The first critical way to express your love is through commitment.
Hard work and loyalty is what counts in a relationship.
The second is emotional intimacy. Happy couples are best friends.
They spend a lot of time together, sit close, do the chores together, eat together and go to bed at the same time. They are attentive and affectionate to one another, solve problems effectively and constantly remind each other of nice moments they have shared.
They don’t make love every time they are alone together. They often just talk, and enjoy each other’s company.
The third crictical way to express you love is through physical intimacy, successful couples seem to make love a lot.
So your relationship needs to have a good mix of emotional intimacy, passion and commitment.
Knock one or more out, and you are sure to be unhappy. But what should you do if things are becoming imbalanced?
Well, be committed for a start because finding a partner who really loves you is tough.
In fact, it is so hard that, once you have found it, you should never let it go.
And set time aside just to be together – at least an hour or so a day away from the children and the TV.
This will make you rediscover the joys of just talking and being close like when you were dating.

It is sad how often relationship end because we are dissatisfied with our partner, when really what has happened is that we have set unrealistic expectations.
So the next time your spouse is driving you nuts, ask yourself whether you’re being fair – in giving love, commitment and passion. It is only when you have met their needs that you have the right to complain about your own.
