For the last 20 years or so we have been searching for an elusive consensus. Everyone wants to have their way which is not possible. In Naivasha the parliamentary review committee was in agreement with all the contents in the proposed katiba but when it was brought to parliament every MP wanted to addd their own icing to the cake making it difficult to pass even one amendment. The good thing with the proposed supreme law is that it empowers the wanainchi to have a say on the amendments that we want in the constitution. If we really want a prosperous and harmonius nation we must be prepared to pay the full costs. Democracy is not cheap. I feel that those that are currently tasked with the making of the constitution are only driven by their selfish desires. The only way we can change this is by passing the proposed laws and the working together as the youth and for that matter the most affected to ensure that the desired changes are effected.
But having us all agree on the outstanding issues will definitely never happen, we can as well forget about the whole constitution if we have to wait until we are all in agreement on every clause in the new laws.
